We are only a few thousand away from fifty thousand subscribers and it is all because of you guys. We just finished paddling a clear bottom kayak and my left butt cheek went totally numb because the seat was weird. We were so close to the manatees and we paid sixty eight dollars for an hour in this two person boat. I was so scared of the deep water and the alligators but we saw the manatees right under us and Bob rowed the whole time. You just have to be faster than one person if an alligator comes. You can see manatees four different ways in Florida and we decided to do three of them but I absolutely refuse to swim with them.
Before the kayak we made adult Spaghettio's for dinner in the van and Bob sat by the fire while I did the dishes. We stayed at a state park after we took a glass bottom boat tour at Silver Springs. The glass bottom boat was only seventeen dollars a person and it was totally worth it and we saw a huge manatee named Alberta and a baby named Doc. The water was so crystal clear and the guide told us the boats have been doing tours since the eighteen eighties. I drove the van to the park because we pulled a lemon from our box and the rule was we had to switch drivers at every single stop. I drove to Walmart and then I drove to the dump station and I even parked the van and we survived.
The very first way we saw the manatees was walking on a boardwalk at Three Sisters Springs. There were two hundred and fifty manatees there because they have to stay in water that is warmer than sixty eight degrees. Manatees can weigh up to twelve hundred pounds and they have these cute little stubby arms they use to push across the bottom. The water comes right up from the aquifer into the spring. We had a huge problem finding parking there and the whole place was falling apart but a nice lady at the visitor center told us where to go. You can just use a picture of your national park pass to get in. We thought we would stay at a state park there but they were totally booked up until March. Van life means making last minute decisions and sometimes it bites you but we always figure it out.
